Since the newest version was released, the app has become almost unusable. The keyboard opens with extreme delay, many buttons and the animations stop working and the whole keyboard is distorted. Fix this broken piece of trash, i payed a lot of money for it!

Nintype does a great many things right. Not least of all the wow-effect while typing. But it is so unstable and unreliable in terms of crashing that for every second I save with typing while using it, I lose five seconds to its crashing. Once this gets sorted out, Ill probably start using it again.

Ive been using this daily for more than a few months I think... For the first few hours of using it, I was quite confused as the interface was a little different compared to the stock iOS UI. Now I understand how time-saving the interface is once you get used to it and I like it much better than the normal "Apple" UI. The typing (or swiping) it self isnt *too* hard to learn, but it definitely does require some time and effort. Now Ive completely mastered the keyboard and its even fun to just type because of how beautiful the animations and the themes can be. The new emoji feature finally eliminates the need to switch between different keyboards, this product is complete in my eyes and Im already happy with the 5 dollars Ive paid, and any new features and updates are bonuses now. I love how supportive and active the developer is on /r/nintype as well. Update : This version has transparency support which is gorgeous and some of the suggestions Ive made in the subreddit was implemented as well! Still very satisfied. I just wish Apples 3rd Party Keyboard API was a bit more stable.

The keyboard could be really great but there are some big annoying downsides: - its crashing a lot which is really annoying. The app has to be killed to have the keyboard reappear. - the German dictionary is poor. A lot of German words are missing while other suggestions that are simply nonsense. So it takes *keyboard just crashed* quite some weeks to have a productive keyboard. - some applications are not really working well with this keyboard: e.g. deleting words or parts of words in Evernote is sometimes messing up previous words. - the starting time is too long - it would be nice to have an icloud sync / backup for settings and dictionary.

Since last update much more peformance and it crashes Not to much :) Thanks for this update :))

Without the crash bug, it would be the best keyboard app in the App Store. Hope this will be fixed soon.

The nintype concept is awesome, sadly the (german) word detection isnt nearly as forgiving as for example the swype keyboard. In addition the german language has many capitalised words... Which nintype seems to ignore consistently.

If youre an average user its not worth $5 because its confusing. Great design and features though but too confusing.

Potential 1)The app is beautifully designed, very nice focus animations. 2)Personally I am not crazy for slide typing, but I do appreciate the tutorials very thoughtful. Experience summary 1)Keyboard is a bit laggy to load when a red or input is selected. There is that hesitation that occurs that is just enough to make a person think something has gone wrong. On some text entry points, this review for example, the keyboard was present however you could not see any input. I believe this occurred because it pushed the text entry to a point that was not visible on screen. Ironically I had to change to the default keyboard to enter this review

Its well designed, much faster than typing with Swypes. Love the multiple language support. Its also chock full of features and customisations though it may take some time to get used to the shortcuts.

Theres definitely a learning curve, but once you get used to it, its a highly efficient keyboard. Also, the graphics and animations actually make it more fun to type! I highly recommend it if youre not happy with the stock keyboard.

Invest some time to learn how to rock with this keyboard. It is slick and better than all alternatives, but it will take sometime to tweak.

This keyboard is super fun but definitely takes some time to practice with. Make it your keyboard for a few days and you will be hooked! So many efficiencies. I have been waiting for a good third party keyboard and this is it!

Best keyboard ever! I Love that you can switch between slide and peck mode, with built in calculator, and tons of customization! Tons and tons of features! No other keyboard can come even close to the features it offers! And the developer is also the awesome!

This keyboard had a steep learning curve but damn if it isnt powerful. Im still getting the hang of it but once you play around with it for some time, youll be typing quickly and accurately. I was also shocked at the level of customization built into this thing. You can literally change every aspect of the keyboard. For example, you can re-size the height of the keyboard, each individual key, how far spaced they are, not to mention what color the background and keys are. And the keyboard is pretty too, the optional effects are impressive to look at. Theres so much functionality in this keyboard that its nearly impossible to describe here, but its totally worth it but it can be a little daunting and intimidating when you look at the options for the first time.

Takes a bit of time to learn but man is it worth it, If you are a swype fan this is like the next level.

To those who are looking for a simple keyboard that is easy to use the second you download it, this may not be for you. To those that, like myself, want an incredibly fast keyboard that is as beautiful to use as it is comfortable to type on, this is the best option available on the market today. You may not be able to appreciate the brilliance of this keyboard right out of the gate, but after going through the tutorial built right into the keyboard, using this layout and type of input method will become second nature. I have used almost every offering available on the App Store to date, and all of them sent me back to the apple keyboard when I wanted to actually type without frustration and at an acceptable rate. This is the first one that has actually increased my typing speed and made it more comfortable to pull out my phone to reply to an iMessage than to open up messages on my Mac to do so. Highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a steroid boost to all other keyboards available today. Two (less tired) thumbs way up Mr. Games.

Fantastic keyboard. Its got a bit of a learning curve attached to it, but once you use it for a few days you wont be able to use any other keyboard as effectively. Its essentially trying to teach you how to type all over again, so the muscle memory needs to relearn itself. Plus the animations look amazing when you type! Just a few points of feedback though: 1. The tutorial is helpful, but the part on settings shortcuts is a bit confusing and hard to follow. 2. There needs to be more customizability in terms of colour and animation schemes. 3. There needs to be a hide keyboard button that will shrink the keyboard when you want to just see the screen. 4. When we try to give reviews in the app store, the keyboard pushes the screen all the way up and you cant see the text. So Im actually using the standard ios keyboard for this review.
