Nintype App Reviews

First day impressions really positive

As others have said, there is a bit of a learning curve but I really like it. There are some issues but Im a fan.

Wont open after update

The most recent update doesnt work officially switching to Swift

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Every update messes up my custom layouts... Last time it added colour that I cannot get rid of, now it’s a big grey circle around every letter I tap. Customization is not very intuitive so when I make it my own, don’t take it away from me.

Love this keyboard but so buggy and crashes

So frustrating how much I love this keyboard but it always fails on me. Constantly having to reboot phone or remove and re-add keyboard..

Love the Keyboard

Very happy with developer updates, used to crash and lag but the dedication to this amazing application is very gratifying! I’m extremely happy with my purchase, and I would probably purchase again if necessary. Thanks for the hard work jormy!

Keyboard does not work as it should, but good concept

NinType review: I rarely write app reviews, but I believe this keyboard needs one. It is an excellent and truly revolutionary idea, but it doesnt work nearly as well as it should. When I downloaded this keyboard, it worked well for the first day or two, as I was learning how it worked. But when I got used to using it, a few major problems appeared. The price for this app is $5.79, and right now, it is not worth the price. These are some of the problems Ive been having: 1) The keyboard learns misspelled words without me teaching them to it. 2) Peck typing is nearly impossible, even in peck mode. The keyboard changes the words I type into other words, and in peck mode, there are no spelling suggestions. 3) Often, when I swipe or peck a word on the keyboard, it shows up as the word I want. Then as soon as I hit space, it changes into a misspelled or randomly capitalized word that I did not want. When I press and hold the word in the top bar to correct it, it only shows the word I originally typed about 50% of the time. 4) Swiping words is much more difficult now than it was when I downloaded the keyboard, probably due to learned misspellings. 5) The apostrophe key to the right of the main keyboard does not work 75% of the time. 6) When typing a word, sometimes it will stop accepting keystrokes, even when peck typed. For example, if I type the word, "sometimes", the keyboard will stop at "so", and every letter I type after that will not be recognized. I have to delete the word and type it again for it to work. This does not happen in peck typing mode, but it should not happen in normal mode. 7) There seems to be no obvious way to add custom emojis to the custom emoji keyboard. This is less of a major problem, but should still be addressed. If these problems were all fixed, this keyboard would definitely be 5/5 stars, and it would be worth twice the current cost. But until then, it is definitely not worth it. This review was typed with the stock iOS keyboard.

Solid keyboard, annoying flaws

The keyboard is great. I want to get that out of the way. Problems here and there, but one crippling problem that I don’t how how one would fix it. It simply doesn’t load all the time. I wait and the keyboard doesn’t appear. Very frustrating. I have to enter the app to open. Also peck mode is poor. And deletion is poor and needs work to make it easier to retype words that have been spelt wrong. Other then that heaps of fun. I like giving my phone to people to use anf watching their face

I love Nintype! But...

ITS CONSTANTLY CRASHING!!! I wanted to type an amazing review about this keyboard because its super intuitive and a way Ive always wanted to type, but it crashes too much to use as my main keyboard. Please fix this!!! Ill write another review when this is repaired.

I want my money back!

The worst thing I have spent money on! It constantly crashes, and corrects my words to something completly different from what I originally was typing. The app is really slow and somwtimes never even opens so I am not able to text at all. Don’t buy this, they have a lot of bugs to work out!

Amazing app but the crashes are annoying

This app is amazing. Typing with it once you get used to it is so fast and fluid it will make you feel like a ninja. The only real downside that prevents me from using it as my main keyboard is the regular crashes. Maybe more RAM on future phones is going to fix this...

Rarely Do I Ever Write Reviews But..

This app may come with a steep price and an even steeper learning curve but once you get used to it, I can almost guarantee you that you will love with. I started using this app yesterday and I can’t get over it. The typing mechanics are phenomenal, I can lazily swipe across the keyboard, grazing letters and I will magically get the word that I’m looking for. The only gripe I have with this app is the occasional lag but I’m sure that Jormy is working on that. Once again, a beautiful application and it will be my daily driver for a very long time.

Getting better

This keyboard crashes often, which is a shame, because it could easily be the best keyboard on the App store IMO. I’m giving it three stars because its unreliable. If it didn’t crash on the regular I would give it five stars no problem. Additionally, I can’t seem to enable jiggle, which was a cool feature before the most recent update.

Great updates

I had to stop using nintype got a while after iOS 9 came out, but these updates have made things a lot more stable. This is the only third party keyboard in the store that’s actually worth anything. Highly recommended.

Best keyboard!

There’s definitely a learning curve to this keyboard but once you get the hang of it it’s the best keyboard out there. I find myself incapable of using other mobile keyboards anymore because once you get used to it the double swipe becomes so intuitive and quick that all other keyboards feel slow by comparison. The only thing it needs is a cleaner and more intuitive theme setup. Make sure to look for themes online since there are tons of great options that would be impossible to figure out on your own. Great customzability and features (shortcuts, cursor control, can use two languages at once without switching...).

Needs work

The predictive text leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe model it after the native keyboard. Had I known what it was like I would not have payed for it. If it were free, it would be passable.

Updated, but still unstable application

---------------------------- Updated. Stability slightly increased but its very much far from something we can say stable. In Spotlight(not only for this but so many apps are same) it get frozen. Using iPhone6 128GB. Let me say again, I like this app! But what we need is really stable app. With current quality, its useless. ----------------------------

Sound

Type sound. Please!

Way too complicated

The developer is a genius without any question. But it is way too complicated for normal people.

App crushes a lot

I just bought it and it is not perfect yet. It has great potential, but for now its just not stable enough to comfortably use it. Even during tutorial it crashed few times, and believe me, going through it with this disco theme was soooo bad. I would fell way more comfortable with less colourful layout. Hope you will get rid of those bugs asap and it might replace swipe on my devices

Best keyboard out there

Simply the best. Ive tried them all. Best features and awesome look. Worth it.
